Adjustable Shin Support Height/ Foot Straps

One pair of stilts for multiple users! Yes that is now an option. Many troupes and schools have requested a system in which the stilts can be shared. We have been supplying those for a couple of years now and have worked thru the design process.  A heel plate is added to our standard footplate (Size 8 women’s or Size 10 men’s) A simple criss cross of a heavy duty 1” Polypro Webbing thru 4 D-rings over the shoe secures you to the footplate. This option is best used in simple parading around and not recommended for acro stilting or floor work. It is recommended that you bolt your shoes to the footplate for those heavier uses.

Shin height supports can be in a range that suites many different body types. As an example, we have found that for taller folks with larger feet have a shin height range between 16”,17”and 18”. For folks closer to 5’ in overall height and a smaller foot those shin support heights can be 15”,16” and 17”. Technically a shin support can be lower on the shin but not higher, having a shin support interfere with the full bending of the knee is to be avoided. In order to adjust the shin heights, you must partially dismantle the stilts and move the bolts into the appropriate holes on the bottom of the shin support pole. Please refer to photos for clarification.

Stilt Color Options

All stilts come with a bare aluminum finish. However, imagine the option to color your stilts in a wide palette of choices. We are happy to provide the colorization of your stilts by means of Powder Coating (the color of your choice is electrostatically bonded to the aluminum and baked on to a fine finish) This is an incredibly durable finish and is the same process used to paint bicycles. Black or White are the color choices for the block that lives between the shin and leg support.

Colorizing does beautify the stilts and with creative footwear choices it can be a great choice to not cover up your stilts.

To choose this option select “Custom powder coating” under the “stilt color option”.  Once you have completed your purchase, visit https://www.prismaticpowders.com/shop/powder-coating-colors and select your color. Once you have your chosen color, please “reply” to your emailed receipt with this information.

These stilts are awesome! They are super sturdy and I felt very secure on them. I saw some similar ones for almost twice the price, so I am glad I went with these!

  2. Susan Washburn

I got my stilts at Maker Faire and absolutely love them! It was my first time walking on 3 feet but they are just so incredibly light that I didn’t have a problem at all on them. The material in particular is so much lighter that it doesn’t need the muscle most wood-made stilts need which makes them really are great for people that like to stay up longer. They are the best quality of stilts I have ever had and would highly recommend them!

In my several years as a stilt walker, I have seen many a peg stilt; but I have yet to find a pair I like better than these. The aluminum poles, bolted shoe mechanism, thick rubber tread, and cushioned strap all significantly contribute to making these stilts the most comfortable, lightweight, and durable ones I’ve ever tried.

One tip: for picking a shoe, go for white or beige high-top style sneaker with good cushiony arch support. You’ll feel more secure and control with a high-top, and your white shoes won’t show through as much if your stilt cover happens to be light in color and not completely opaque.

My Stilt Factory stilts are a dream! I’ve used many different kinds of wood stilts and they just don’t compare to the aluminum. The aluminum makes them super light-weight, and the custom knee-brace pads make them comfortable. David has priced his expertly crafted stilts far below their value. Thank you!

    Hi guys,
I just wanted to leave this review here.
All of you looking to see about using Stilt Factory for your next pair of stilts have found the right Stilt Maker ! 🙂
David is amazing and so creative. He makes a really comfy and strong pair of stilts. I feel extremely secure and safe wearing my stilts from Stilt Factory because of the thought that he put into it while designing my (aluminum stilts).
I have been stilting on the Playa at Burning Man, for festivals, private and birthday parties and these stilts are the ones because thy last in all sorts of environments. I have been stilt walking for two years and have upgraded sizes from 2 footers to 3 or 3 1/2 sizes for my stilts with him and his stilts will seriously last me a lifetime. 😀
I will be back to Stilt Factory when I’m ready for even taller stilts.

Live tall, be the center of attention, create happiness and amazement, walk on stilts.

When I got into stilts, I was building my own out of wood; However, when you want 3′ stilts and weigh 200 lbs, you quickly realize that wood is risky. I was psyched when I found stilt factory and saw their construction in person. These things are solid and super comfortable to wear. On top of that, David will work with you to make sure the fit is right and that everything is perfect.

I’ve had mine for about 3 years now and they’ve held up great.

  7. Alison Gale

David of Stilt Factory is a stand up guy. He strives to make sure you are happy with your purchase. The stilts themselves are a simple, sleek design and decadently lightweight. Very versatile (I have the 2′ and 3′ poles) and sturdy. I can walk, dance, and dangle from aerial apparatus’ with the greatest of ease! I love Stilt Factory!
